چکیده

From Human to Agent Societies There is no (apparent) need to advocate any anthropomorphic principle to reason about agents. Analogy is enough to drive comparisons and possibly help us foreseeing the evolution of agent systems. More than ten thousands years have seen humans evolve as situated, speaking, specialisable, and context-aware entities, co-existing and interacting within societies, deeply immersed within environments. Latest results from historical sciences [1] tell us that, after millions years of biological evolution, cultural and social evolution have become predominant – where social evolution basically means organisational changes in the social structure. Also, the role of the environment is reckoned, as a dynamic and active force that drives the evolution of human societies, and also affects the ability of both individuals and social structures to survive, grow, and possibly overcome the others. In turn, the evolution of the environment is partially under human’s control. So, depending on their understanding of the environment and of its dynamics, individuals and societies might plan and act so as to affect environment’s changes over time, and survive and grow according to their ability in modelling and building / modifying their own environment.

Towards a Notion of Agent Coordination Context

On the one hand, recent studies on the history of human societies suggest that the role of the environment has to be taken explicitly into account in order to understand evolution of individuals and groups in any non-trivial setting. On the other hand, the notion of context is well-known and relevant to several research areas such as natural language, philosophy, logic, and artificial intellige...

Agent Coordination Contexts: Experiments in TuCSoN

The notion of agent coordination context has been introduced as a means to model and shape the space of agent interaction and communication, and the agent presence in a situated environment. This paper describes experiments in modelling and developing the notion of agent coordination context within the TuCSoN model for agent coordination, and discusses the related benefits in terms of the engin...

Ion molecules with general chemical formula as [Li(H2O)] (n=1,2,3), have been chosen as model species toinvestigate the chemical properties of hydrated lithium cations. The RHF(SCVS)/UGBS level of calculationhas been used for obtaining equilibrium geometries and Rho(r) functions (electron density distributions). By theaid of fundamental physical theorems implemented in Quantum Theory of Atoms i...

The LuCe Coordination Technology for MAS Design and Development on the Internet

Internet-based multi-agent systems call for new metaphors, abstractions, methodologies and enabling technologies specifically tailored to agent-oriented engineering. While coordination models define the framework to manage the space of agent interaction, ruling social behaviours and accomplishing social tasks, their impact on system design and development calls for an effective coordination tec...
